Euclid wrote down what an argument is — twenty-three definitions, five postulates, and then everything else earned from them and nothing else, worked by hand with a compass until the habit of naming the rule at every step is yours. Algebra I comes first: a student without that footing stalls inside Book I. The first twenty-six propositions are open now and the course is being written forward; the credit shown is what is on the page today, not what it will be.
