From the founder

I was a handyman.

The jobs got bigger as the bills got bigger, and before long I was leaving before breakfast and coming home to kids already asleep. I built Romeschool to change that—to build something that would let me be the father my children deserve, and that might serve other families along the way.

America was built by people who could think, speak, and build. I want my kids to inherit that tradition, and I want yours to have access to it too. Whether a Romeschool graduate finds herself guiding public policy or starts a company with a laptop and a sharp wit, I hope you’ll look back and see Romeschool as the doorway that made the rest inevitable.

To the founding families: thank you. The software will have bugs. The courses will have rough edges. Both will improve every day. When you see something off, hit the feedback button and tell me what you’d like fixed. It will be.

Getting started

What can we actually use today?

Every tool — planning, logging, portfolios, transcripts, state requirements, curriculum finder, field trips, ESA tracking. Every course opens September 1. The free public sample of the teaching is Unsettlers: An American History, Unit 1 (five lessons) — no account required.

When do the courses arrive?

September 1. Every course, across all five tracks, opens in full on that date — not a first wave with the rest to follow.

Money & ESA

Is this per student?

Yes. Curriculum is priced per student, and the additional-student rate is the same for your second child and your fifth. Your first year is priced by the band you join in — Pioneer is $499 / $299, Early is $749 / $399, Standard is $999 / $499. The planner, logbook & records tools are free for every student — just make an account.

So what do I actually pay next year?

$999 for your first student and $499 for each additional one — the standard founding rate, whichever band you joined in. If you came in at Pioneer or Early, your first year was cheaper than your renewals will be; that discount is a thank-you for coming early, not the permanent price. What is permanent is the renewal rate itself: it is fixed the day you join and never rises, while families who join after August 31 pay $1,499 / $749 every year.

Can I use ESA funds?

Romeschool receipts are itemized for ESA paperwork — clean line items, issued by Atheneum Academy LLC. Direct-pay listings are in progress, Arizona ClassWallet first. Confirm eligibility with your program before you count on reimbursement.

Using ESA funds in Florida (PEP)?

The curriculum subscription is designed for ESA purchase — a clean, itemized line issued by Atheneum Academy LLC. The planner, logbook & records are free for everyone, so there's nothing extra for an ESA to cover. We'll never imply an approval that hasn't happened.

What happens after August 31?

Romeschool goes to its standing price — $1,499 for your first student and $749 for each additional one, every year. The founding will not be offered again. Families who joined during it keep a renewal rate of $999 / $499 for the life of the account, which never rises.

Trust & records

Where does my student write?

In their notebook, or in your own word processor — not in the app. The lesson hands over the prompt and the rubric; a parent adds the finished piece to the portfolio. The weekly declamation records on your device and is transcribed right there — the voice never leaves the device.

Is the Rhetoric gate really locked?

Yes. Progress toward Via Rhetorica is stamped by the system as the work happens — it can't be backfilled or hand-waved. That's the promise behind the transcript.
