What families say

This is a big hit with train-loving kids of pretty much any age, with families raving about riding the trains and trolleys, exploring vintage cars and cabooses, and chatting with the volunteer staff. Plan on at least half a day, if not a full one—especially if you go for the "Day Out With Thomas" event, which several families said kept them busy from open to close and they still didn't see everything. There's a diner on-site for a light lunch, though one reviewer noted the original diner car itself was closed for renovation.
