This free museum and submarine walk-through is a solid pick for around an hour, with families praising the sub history, weapons displays, and a documentary that even turns skeptics into submarine enthusiasts. Walking through the actual Nautilus is the highlight, though a couple of reviewers note the sub's interior feels dated and some compartments (including the reactor area) are closed off. Plenty of parking and free admission make it easy to work into a day trip, and taking the New London water taxi is a scenic bonus if you're coming from that side.
