Families love spring visits during the Tulip Festival for the variety of themed gardens (secret, fairy, Dutch), the koi pond, and kid-friendly extras like a scavenger hunt and bouncy house at the amphitheater; golf cart rentals are also available for grandparents or anyone needing an easier route. Plan for a few hours, arrive right at 9am opening to avoid crowds and heat, and buy tickets ahead of time—plenty of shaded benches make it manageable with little ones. Note that the waterfall has been off due to drought and one reviewer found the flowers underwhelming and pricey, so expect some variability in bloom quality depending on when you go.
