What families say

Families rave about the Trail of Ten Falls, especially the magical stretch where you can walk right behind the waterfalls — a highlight kids won't forget. The full 8-mile loop is well-maintained with only mild elevation gain, but it's a real hike (stairs included), so plan for several hours; if you want a shorter option, the South Falls section alone is doable for less experienced hikers. Note that trail closures from fallen trees/storm damage are common, so check the park website before you go, and visiting in spring (like May) gets you fuller waterfalls and smaller crowds than summer.
