Families with kids as young as 5 have made this underground mine tour work, with the initial elevator descent through solid rock being a genuine highlight (a little scary at first, but curiosity wins out). Guides get consistent praise for making mining history interactive and engaging for all ages, so the educational value seems high, but note it's not ideal for anyone claustrophobic and the mine runs cool, so bring layers.
