Kids seem to enjoy the guided tour, the massive cannon, and swimming at the beach afterward, plus learning about the fort's history and architecture—good for history-loving families. Keep in mind this is a full-day trip out on Ship Island (reachable by ferry or boat), so pack water, snacks, and sun-appropriate footwear since the deck gets hot, and be prepared for love bugs at certain times. Reviews were mostly positive, though one parent found it "nothing really impressive" and wouldn't repeat the trip, so it may work best for families who specifically enjoy historic forts and battlefields.
