What families say
This overlook is a short, easy walk from parking, making it doable even for younger kids, and the payoff is huge—striking white-and-red rock formations and panoramic desert views that photograph beautifully, especially in early morning or late afternoon light. Just know there's little shade, so summer visits can feel brutally hot; bring plenty of water and sun protection. If your kids are into Star Trek trivia (there's a fictional Captain Kirk "grave site" nearby) or petroglyphs, there's extra material to explore, though parking lots can get crowded during peak season or fan events.
