What families say
This free, three-floor museum on the Amherst College campus is a hit with dinosaur-loving kids, featuring full mammoth skeletons, a T-Rex skull, a triceratops head, and an especially strong collection of Connecticut River Valley dinosaur tracks (the QR-code guide is a nice touch, giving enough info without dragging on). Staff and professors on-site are noted as friendly and happy to answer kids' questions, making it a good pick for curious young learners. One heads-up: campus parking near the building is limited, so plan for a short walk, and consider packing a picnic since there's lovely green space nearby.
