How to read the map

We write it. A Romeschool course, in the app.
You source it. The standard sequence, your pick of publisher.
Elective. An open slot — yours to fill.
Declamatio. The course that carries the spoken month.
Essay. The course that carries the same month in ink.
SEMSemesters. 2 SEM is a full year; 1 SEM is half.

* Four semesters. The Long Fall of Rome runs the whole of junior and senior year alongside Via Rhetorica — one long argument made in ink while the other is made aloud. It is the newest course on this map, and it is being written now.

Where should my student start?

Start where your student is ready

Grade level is a starting point, not a placement. Nothing in Romeschool is locked by age — the only course that has to be earned is the capstone, and it is earned by finishing courses, not by turning a year older.

The filled cards — 17 courses, written by Romeschool and read in the app, in the order shown. The trivium, the inheritance, formation, the built world, and the two we write outside them: Euclid’s geometry and practical science.

What you source

The outlined cards. Algebra through precalculus, and biology, chemistry and physics, stay yours to choose — your publisher, your pace, your call. We did not write them, so we do not guarantee them and we do not evaluate them.

What counts as done

The record your planner and logbook already keep: the lesson opened, read, and logged. You can read it any day of the four years. There is nothing extra to file, nothing to submit, and no work of your student’s that we grade.
